Job Summary

Gulliver is looking to hire a Middle School English teacher for the 2020-2021 school year.  Students take two English classes with one period focusing on literature and the other on writing.  Final course assignments will depend on the candidate’s experience; however, the department offers courses from 5th grade through 8th grade, and the curriculum at each level incorporates different genres and pulls from both classical and contemporary works from around the world. The department is in the process of training the teachers in Teacher’s College Writer’s Workshop, from Columbia University, and experience with this curriculum is a plus.  Candidates must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of teaching experience, preferably with middle school age students, and a bachelor's degree in English, education, or a related field. Candidates must also be adept at incorporating technology in the classroom and embrace 21st century teaching methods.

Bachelor’s Degree

3-5 year’s teaching experience
