High School Learning Specialist
Gulliver Preparatory School’s Miller Drive Campus seeks a high school Learning Specialist for the 2018-2019 academic year. The candidate should possess strong foundational knowledge of teaching reading; ESOL endorsed candidates preferred. He/she should be able to use a variety of instructional practices, approaches, methods and curriculum materials to support reading, writing, and math instruction. It is essential that the applicant demonstrates proficiency in the use of assessment tools and practices, to plan and evaluate effective individualized instruction for students at different stages of development from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Applicants should have an interest in teaching executive functioning skills in a smaller learning environment for students in grades 9-12. Applicants must be able to analyze students’ current level of performance and create detailed learning goals that address specific and individualized student needs. An understanding of learning styles, differentiated instruction, testing, and data driven instruction is required.
