Job Summary

Gulliver Prep’s Middle School is seeking to hire a Middle School English Faculty for the upcoming 2024-25 school year. The position will involve teaching sections of both literature class and writing lab, primarily to the sixth grade.   The literature curriculum at each grade-level incorporates different genres and pulls from both classical and contemporary works from around the world. The Writing Lab course teaches students to write narrative, informative, and argumentative essays with lots of time to write in class and consult one-on-one with the teacher.  The position also involves leading an Advisory group of fourteen students that meets once a week for connecting activities and social-emotional learning lessons. Candidates must also be adept at incorporating technology in the classroom and embrace 21st century teaching methods.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Education or related field; Master’s Degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of three years (3) teaching experience, preferably with middle school aged students.

Criminal Background Check, Level II Fingerprint Screening(s), and Drug screen.
