Job Summary

Gulliver Prep’s Middle School is seeking to hire a Middle School Social Studies Faculty for the upcoming 2024-25 school year.  We are looking for candidates with a passion for bringing history alive for our students while teaching them important social studies skills. The social studies department teaches informational writing through the writer’s workshop method, document-based questions, and the Guided Inquiry Design method of research.  The department offers courses in fifth grade Early American History, sixth grade United States History, seventh grade Early Civilizations, eighth grade Global Studies, and an elective course in Model UN.  Course assignments for this position will likely include sections of 5th grade along with one other grade.  

Candidates should be excited to work with a small group of students as an advisor delivering lessons in social-emotional learning and serve as a club sponsor. Candidates should also be adept at incorporating technology in the classroom and embrace 21st century teaching methods. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in History, Education or related field; Master’s Degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of three years (3) teaching experience, preferably with middle school aged students.

Criminal Background Check, Level II Fingerprint Screening(s), and Drug screen.
