Job Summary

Gulliver Prep’s Upper School Campus is seeking a dynamic Engineering Faculty to join our team or professionals for the upcoming 2024-25 school year.  The qualified applicant will lead courses on the principals of engineering across a wide range of applications and specializations, including electrical, mechanical, industrial and civil, as well as control systems and robotics. In addition, experience in participating in and leading teams through projects or processes is essential. Gulliver emphasizes a hands-on approach to teaching engineering, which includes; design process and design thinking, CAD software, Prototyping and manufacturing, and design orientation.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Prepare course materials, such as syllabi, homework assignments, and hands-on project-based learning activities. 
  • Prepare and deliver lessons to students on engineering topics including, but not limited to, mechanics, hydraulics, statics, electronics, kinematics and robotics.
  • Provide cross-curricular and real-world scenarios for activities and projects. 
  • Explain technical concepts in an understandable and engaging manner.
  • Facilitate learning and use of CAD software and the engineering design process.
  • The candidate is comfortable around equipment to supplement engineering designs and to facilitate the creation of prototypes and manufacturing.
  • Be willing to sponsor and mentor national and international competitions possibly requiring travel in and out of state.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, communicating with colleagues, and continuously participating in professional development.
  • Evaluate and grade students’ work, which includes labs, projects, and assignments.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Proficient in the use of workshop tools and equipment (including, but are not limited to, CNC, lathe, 3D printers and hand tools) as well as the expectation for ongoing professional development. 
  • Innovative thinking, strong leadership skills and the ability to demonstrate these skills to students.
  • Strong presentation abilities and effective written communication

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in a related field.
  • Prior teaching experience in related subjects.

Criminal Background Check, Level II Fingerprint Screening(s), and Drug screen.
