Job Description

Gulliver’s Preparatory Campus is currently seeking a full time French language and literature teacher for the upcoming 2017 - 2018 school year.  Applicants must have a minimum of three years teaching experience in the subject matter. A Bachelor's degree in the field is required and a Master’s degree and State Certification in French and/or in Education are highly preferred. Candidates must have U.S. residency and/or a Green Card.  In addition, they must be bilingual in both French and English, and need to have a native or near native proficiency in French reading, writing, and speaking. Candidates must feel comfortable teaching French literature, IB French language classes and French courses for native speakers of the language.

Additionally, applicants must be able to develop original assessments, and collaborate with other teachers in the World Languages department on a regular basis.  Applicants must be adept at keeping accurate records of student progress and communicating with students, parents, and counselors to discuss any concerns or issues.  Attending ongoing professional development activities and staying abreast of current developments in the field are also expectations for this position, as is a working knowledge of technology in the classroom.  Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching in a 1:1 technology environment, are comfortable operating in a block schedule, and rely on student-centered pedagogy.
